Een kind wist waar de wind vandaan kwam: “Dat komt door het waaien van de bomen”.
Wind jaagt aan en jaagt op. Wind kunnen we niet zien. Wel kun je zien wat de wind veroorzaakt: een krant die door de straat waait, een haarstuk dat omrolt of een blad dat beweegt aan een boom. Wind veroorzaakt verandering.
Het Koninklijk Nederlands Waai Instituut (KNWI) is neergestreken op een winderig weiland op Terschelling om het fenomeen wind te onderzoeken. Wat is deze onwaarneembare factor? Als God het leven blies in Adam, is er zonder wind dan geen leven? Waar is wind begonnen? En kan hij ophouden met bestaan?
Vragen ten over voor FIRMA RIEKS SWARTE en PEERGROUP om met het KNWI op Terschelling diepgaand onderzoek te verrichten. WAAI, of de waarde van het ongewisse is een voorstelling over een wereld zonder wind of met teveel wind met in de hoofdrol: de wind!

The Breath of the Wind or the Importance of What is Left in the Air (WAAI of de waarde van het ongewisse)

A child knew where the wind came from: "The wind is made by the swaying of the trees".
The wind gathers, the wind scatters. Wind is invisible to the eye. What we can see is what the wind brings about: a newspaper blowing through the streets, a hairpiece blown off a head, a leave dangling on a branch. Wind causes change.
The Royal Dutch Wind Institute (het Koninklijk Nederlands Waai Instituut, KNWI) has descended on a windy field on the island of Terschelling in order to do research on the phenomenon wind. What is this imperceptible influence? If God gave Adam life with his breath, does this mean that wind is essential to life? Where is the source of wind? And is it possible for the wind to die?
These questions and more form the starting-point for an in-depth research conducted by Firma Rieks Swarte and the PeerGrouP as the Royal Dutch Wind Institute on Terschelling. The Breath of the Wind or the Importance of What is Left in the Air is about a world without wind or with too much wind, with in the leading part: the wind!
