Shiiin is een muzikale reis door het landschap. Twee muzikanten laten de natuur spreken. Een toevallig voorbij vliegende valk of de schaduw van een wolk is hun partituur. In een samenspel met het landschap laten zij je die beleven als nimmer te voren.

Voor Shiiin ontwikkelden Sytze Pruiksma en Dennis van Tilburg een mobiele geluidsinstallatie op kruiwagens. Met een speciaal instrumentarium en live-sampling creëren zij al wandelend een compositie met de beelden en geluiden om hun heen. Zij werkten eerder samen in de landschapsvoorstelling Rondumheer die o.a. te zien was op Oerol 2008.

Kunstenaar, muzikant en vogelkenner Sytze Pruiksma (1972) kijkt naar het landschap als naar een partituur. Hij luistert naar de natuur als dat hij naar muziek luistert. In het zingen van vogels, het fluiten van de wind en een overtrekkende vlucht ganzen hoort hij melodie en compositie. Sytze combineert zijn klassieke achtergrond en ervaring als vogelaar tot een unieke klanken-taal

Muzikant en theatermaker Dennis van Tilburg (1975) combineert gevoel en technologie in zijn muziek. Hij zoekt steeds naar nieuwe mogelijkheden om emoties om te zetten in geluid. Hierbij gebruikt hij zijn roots in de techno en electronica en zijn ervaring als theatermaker. Dennis is sinds 2005 betrokken bij de PeerGrouP en maakt daar voorstellingen met thema's als natuur en landschap.

Shiiin is a musical journey through the landscape. Two musicians give voice to nature. A chance falcon passing overhead or the shadow of a cloud form their musical score. In their collaboration with the landscape they offer the public the chance to experience the landscape in a complete new way.

In order to realize Shiiin, Sytze Pruiksma en Dennis van Tilburg developed a mobile sound installation on wheelbarrows. With a special set of instruments and live sampling their composition grows out of what they see and hear while walking. The project Rondumheer, that was performed at the 2008 edition of the Oerol Festival on Terschelling was also a co production of Pruiksma and Van Tilburg.

Artist, musician and bird-watcher Sytze Pruiksma (1972) views the landscape as a musical score. He experiences nature as a piece of music. In birdsong, in the whistling of the wind and the passing of migratory geese overhead he hears a melody and recognizes a composition. Sytze combines his classical schooling with his knowledge as a bird-watcher to form a unique sound language.

Musician and theatre maker Dennis van Tilburg (1975) links feelings and technology in his music. He keeps looking for new ways to express emotion in sound, using both his techno and electronics background and his experience as a theatre maker. Dennis has been a member of the PeerGrouP since 2005, working on projects involving themes like nature and landscape.
