Sinds zijn vrouw overleden is kan de componist Geuterbach geen muziek meer componeren. Dagenlang staart hij naar het schilderij van zijn geliefde. Zelfs de uitnodiging voor het belangrijkste concours ter wereld slaat hij af. Maar dan wordt het schilderij gestolen en moet Geuterbach op een reis door het orkest om het terug te vinden.
Noottocht is een voorstelling met een heel orkest, over een orkest en door een orkest. Een verhaal over samenwerken en de kracht van muziek. Het verhaal wordt verteld en gespeeld door een verteller en een poppenspeler. Op hun tocht door het orkest verdwijnen de spelers in een wereld vol magische beelden die v-jays live maken en achter het orkest projecteren.

Deze voorstelling wordt verkocht aan scholen in Groningen, Drenthe en Friesland. De voorstelling toert in 2010 langs schouwburgen in Noord Nederland.

Educatief
Zoals iedere muziekliefhebber zal beamen is de eerste kennismaking met klassieke muziek van groot belang. Onderzoek heeft uitgewezen dat het gezin en de school daarbij bepalende factoren zijn. Het Noord Nederlands Orkest en Stichting Albino hebben om die reden vanaf seizoen 1999-2000 het initiatief genomen om per seizoen een serie educatieve concerten te verzorgen. Voor de Pieter Roelf Jeugdconcerten worden alle leerlingen van de groepen 6, 7 en 8 van het basisonderwijs in de drie noordelijke provincies via hun school uitgenodigd. Hiervan maken zo’n 400 scholen elk jaar gebruik met gemiddeld 15.000 leerlingen.

NOTE-MISSION
A boy sets out on a journey with a mission: he has undertaken to recover harmony. His father, the conductor, has lost it while his days are numbered. This is the start of a journey full of danger that leads through the several worlds of the orchestra. Wooden monsters, brass giants and screeching witches try to get hold of him. It’s his task to harmonize all these figures so that they will play one last time for his father.
Note-mission is a performance with a complete orchestra, about an orchestra, played by an orchestra. It’s a story about working in concert with each other, about what music can accomplish. There is a storyteller who tells the story and a puppet player who plays the story. On his journey through the orchestra the puppet player is accompanied by a video camera. Live, during the performance, the video pictures are being manipulated by a v-jay and projected on a screen that encircles the orchestra.

This production can be booked by schools in Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland. In 2010 Note-mission will make a tour of the theaters in the three northern provinces.

Every music lover will agree that the first introduction to classical music is everything. Research has shown that family and school are determining factors. The Noord Nederlands Orkest and Stichting Albino acted on these findings and in the theatrical season 1999-2000 they initiated a series of educational concerts, with a change of program every new season. All pupils of groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary schools in the three northern provinces are invited as groups to come to the Pieter Roelf Jeugdconcerten. Every year some 400 schools with on average 15.000 pupils accept the invitation.
